Duties
- Perform comprehensive cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming to maintain cleanliness standards.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, waxers, carpet extractors, and scrubbers to ensure optimal performance.
- Handle chemical agents safely, including floor cleaning chemicals, floor care products, and floor refinishing solutions, following all safety protocols.
- Conduct specialized floor care tasks such as buffing, waxing, polishing, and refinishing to restore floors’ appearance and durability.
- Execute heavy lifting tasks involving janitorial supplies or equipment while adhering to manual handling safety procedures.
- Clean carpets using appropriate methods to remove stains and dirt, ensuring a fresh environment.
- Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly.
Experience
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or environmental services settings is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to handle cleaning equipment effectively and safely.
- Knowledge of floor scrubbing, floor buffing, waxing, and floor refinishing techniques.
- Experience with chemical agent handling and understanding of safety data sheets (SDS).
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate professionally with clients and team members.
- Physical capability for manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking.
- Familiarity with environmental standards related to cleaning products and practices is a plus.
