Work Environment: High-energy rooftop nightclub in an oceanfront hotel on the Virginia Beach boardwalk

📝 Summary:
Sky Bar VB Rooftop Nightclub is looking for an energetic, dependable, and team-oriented Barback to support our bar team in a fast-paced nightlife environment. This role is essential to keeping the bar stocked, clean, organized, and running efficiently throughout service. Ideal candidates thrive in a high-volume setting, move with urgency, and enjoy being part of a team that creates memorable guest experiences.

What You’ll Do:

• Stock bars with liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, napkins, glassware, and ice before, during, and after service
• Replenish inventory quickly and accurately to keep bartenders fully supported during peak hours
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all bar areas, storage areas, coolers, and service stations
• Wash and polish glassware and ensure bar tools and supplies are clean and ready for use
• Remove empty bottles, trash, used glassware, and other debris from bar and guest areas promptly
• Assist with receiving and putting away liquor, beverage, and supply deliveries
• Prepare garnishes, juices, mixers, and other bar prep items according to standards
• Change kegs, restock beer, and monitor product levels throughout the shift
• Keep floors dry, clean, and hazard-free to maintain a safe work environment
• Support bartenders and servers with beverage service needs as directed
• Assist with opening and closing duties, including breakdown, cleaning, and securing inventory
• Respond quickly to manager and team requests in a busy nightclub atmosphere
• Wear a big smile and help create a fun, welcoming environment for guests and teammates
• Attend pre-shift line-up as requested by the Supervisor or Manager
• Report to work in a neat and clean uniform. Well-groomed hair and personal hygiene are essential.
• All guests must be treated in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction. Always strive to exceed guests’ expectations.
• Perform any task asked by supervisor which is job or guest related

Legislation & Company Policy

• Gain TIP certification within 3 months of acquiring the job
• Understand and actively support all company policies relevant to your role
• Follow all alcohol service laws and company procedures
• Support safe service practices by communicating concerns to bartenders or managers when necessary
• Help maintain a clean, secure, and compliant bar environment at all times
