Schedule: Seasonal; must include weekends and holidays
Hours: Variable schedule based on business volume
Work Environment: Upscale oceanfront restaurant located right on the Virginia Beach boardwalk
π Position Summary
Catch 31 is seeking a friendly, polished, and guest-focused Host/Hostess to create an exceptional first impression for every guest. As the first point of contact, this role is responsible for welcoming guests, managing seating flow, assisting with reservations and waitlists, and helping deliver a warm, memorable dining experience from arrival to departure.
Job Functions
Welcome Guests

Greet guests with a warm, friendly, and professional demeanor upon arrival

Create a positive first impression through outstanding hospitality

Escort guests or provide clear direction throughout the restaurant as needed
Provide Information

Answer guest questions regarding restaurant hours, menu offerings, seating availability, and amenities

Assist guests with reservations, wait times, and general restaurant information

Direct guests to the appropriate team members when additional assistance is needed
Manage Waiting Areas

Maintain an organized and welcoming entrance and waiting area

Manage reservations, seating charts, and waitlists efficiently

Communicate estimated wait times clearly and provide updates to waiting guests as needed
Assist with Special Requests

Accommodate seating preferences, celebrations, accessibility needs, and other special requests whenever possible

Communicate guest needs promptly and accurately to the restaurant team
Handle Guest Concerns

Address guest questions or concerns with professionalism and courtesy

Escalate issues to management when necessary to ensure timely resolution
Maintain Cleanliness and Presentation

Keep the host stand, entryway, and waiting area clean, organized, and guest-ready

Ensure menus and other materials are stocked and presentable

Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with company standards
