Position Summary
The Unit Manager is responsible for coordinating and supervising nursing care on an assigned unit, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards while promoting a positive and supportive work environment. This role serves as a leader, mentor, and clinical resource for nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations and clinical care delivery on assigned unit
- Supervise and support nursing staff, including CNAs and nurses
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and facility regulations
- Monitor resident care plans and ensure accurate documentation
- Conduct rounds and assess resident conditions, addressing concerns promptly
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure quality outcomes
- Assist with staffing, scheduling, and staff development
- Participate in care plan meetings and communicate with families as needed
- Support infection control, safety, and quality improvement initiatives
- Current LPN license in the state of Virginia
- Minimum 1–2 years of nursing experience in skilled nursing or long-term care preferred
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of clinical practices and regulatory standards
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Strong leadership and team-building abilities
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality care
