Job Overview: Supports the daily operations of the SMSC parks, trails, and outdoor recreation areas. Performs a variety of manual labor tasks to ensure parks and public spaces remain clean, safe, attractive, and well-maintained for community use.
Full-time- Monday through Friday 7:00am-4:30pm, Friday's 7:00-11.
Hourly Rate: Starting at $18.00 per hour.

The SMSC has donated more than $350 million to organizations and causes, provided $500 million in economic development loans to other tribes, and contributed millions more to support regional governments and infrastructure. The SMSC's Native Green initiative annually diverts hundreds of tons of waste from landfills, has implemented compostable containers throughout our properties and restored hundreds of acres of prairie land. Create Your Path: The Work You’ll Do:
- Perform mowing, trimming, and general turf maintenance throughout SMSC parks and facilities.
- Assist with trail cleanup, debris removal, and routine landscaping.
- Maintain Park amenities including shelters, playgrounds and walking trails.
- Empty trash and recycling receptacles and ensure cleanliness of public spaces.
- Perform minor repairs and routine maintenance on equipment, tools, and park features.
- Assist with irrigation system checks, watering, and plant care.
- Support special events setup and takedown as needed.
- Follow all safety policies and operate equipment responsibly.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Ability to perform physical labor including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, walking, and working outdoors in varying weather.
- Valid class D driver’s license preferred (required if operating SMSC vehicles).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and positive attitude.
- This position is subject to testing for drugs (THC included) & alcohol in accordance with the Federal Department of Transportation Regulations as well as the SMSC’s Drug / THC and Alcohol Policy.
