Duties
- Install HVAC systems including air conditioning units, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems according to schematics and design specifications
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC system issues using electrical diagnostics, ohmmeters, and other hand tools
- Read and interpret schematics, electrical diagrams, and HVAC design plans to execute installations accurately
- Conduct plumbing connections and ensure proper integration with HVAC equipment
- Diagnose equipment failures and perform repairs efficiently to minimize downtime
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including service reports and system modifications
- Assist in the training of apprentices or junior technicians when needed
- Ensure compliance with EPA regulations regarding refrigerant handling and environmental safety standards
Qualifications
- Hvac Journeymen's license
- Proven construction experience with a strong background in mechanical systems installation and repair
- Service technician experience with HVAC/R systems
- Knowledge of schematics, electrical diagnostics, HVAC design principles, and building automation systems
- Mechanical knowledge refrigeration, appliances, and general equipment troubleshooting
- Proficiency with hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, ohmmeters, and specialized diagnostic tools
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics accurately
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record;
driver preferred - EPA certification for refrigerant handling required or obtainable upon hire
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients
- Mechanical or mechanic experience is highly desirable for this role
