Responsibilities
- Assist with cutting, programming, and duplicating keys using specialized equipment
- Support the installation, repair, and maintenance of locks and security hardware on-site
- Prepare and organize shop tools, materials, and supplies for daily tasks
- Use diagnostic tools such as scanners and programmers to troubleshoot automotive electrical.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace adhering to safety standards
- Learn to interpret lock specifications, blueprints, and technical instructions
- Collaborate with team members to complete customer orders efficiently and accurately
- Clean, maintain, check in and out various pieces of U-Haul equipment.
Experience
- No prior locksmith or mechanic experience required; a strong interest in security technology is a plus
- Basic mechanical aptitude with a willingness to learn technical skills
- Familiarity with using hand tools and measuring devices is beneficial
- Ability to follow detailed instructions carefully and work diligently in a team environment
- Must be comfortable working with electrical components; experience with voltmeters is advantageous but not mandatory
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude are essential for growth in this apprenticeship role
