Job Summary
Sgt. Peffer's Cafe Italian Millard is seeking a dependable Janitor to help maintain a clean, sanitary, and welcoming restaurant environment. This position will handle routine cleaning of dining areas, restrooms, kitchen-support spaces, and other areas of the restaurant while helping maintain a safe workplace for guests and employees.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize dining areas, restrooms, floors, and common areas.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors throughout the restaurant.
- Clean tables, counters, doors, windows, and other high-touch surfaces.
- Empty trash and recycling containers and replace liners.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms and replenish necessary supplies.
- Assist with deep-cleaning tasks for kitchen and service areas as assigned.
- Safely use approved cleaning products, tools, and equipment.
- Maintain adequate supplies of paper products and cleaning materials.
- Report maintenance issues, spills, damaged equipment, or safety hazards to management.
- Follow restaurant sanitation, safety, and chemical-handling procedures.
- Help keep entrances, service areas, and back-of-house spaces neat and presentable.
- Complete opening, closing, and additional cleaning duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous janitorial, cleaning, restaurant, or hospitality experience preferred.
- Strong attention to cleanliness and detail.
- Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks on schedule.
- Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to safely handle cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and lifting during a shift.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, or other scheduled hours.
- Positive and respectful attitude toward guests and coworkers.

Sgt. Peffer's Cafe Italian Millard is a long-standing Italian restaurant serving the southwest Omaha and Millard community. The Millard location at 13760 Millard Ave offers Italian-American favorites including pizza, pasta, salads, soups, and other made-from-scratch dishes.
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30.0 per week
