SCHEDULE: Full Time, 8 HR Day Shift, 8-4
Position Summary
Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer, the Assistant Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) is responsible for maintaining inpatient nursing services in accordance with the organization’s mission, vision, values, goals and objectives. The ACNO ensures compliance with all regulatory and accrediting standards, ensures that patient safety, customer service, budgetary and quality goals are met.
EDUCATION
Considerable amount of time spent in hospital office and/or meeting environment, primarily daytime hours with flexibility required for meeting schedules, rounds, travel, etc. Occasionally lifts over fifty (50) lbs. Requires the ability to work long, irregular or flexible hours as needed; requires regular on-call time. May be occasionally exposed to blood and body fluids, including infectious diseases. Considerable mental effort required to assess, plan and make decisions in a high-stress, complex environment, over varying/fluctuating time frames.

EDUCATION
- Current RN license in State of Georgia.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
- Master’s Degree in Nursing or related area, such as MHA, MBA, MPH required.
- Eight (8) years of hospital-based experience including a minimum of: Four (4) years in an acute care setting as a Registered Nurse. Four (4) years in a leadership and management capacity with at least three (3) of those years at the Department Director level or above.
- Excellent ability to work effectively with a variety of diverse individuals and groups.
- Strong ability to lead and develop others individually and as a team, and to be an effective team member.
- Excellent ability to adapt to new situations, set priorities, and utilize problem-solving techniques with minimal direction.
- Excellent demonstrated verbal, written, and behavioral communication skills.
- Demonstrates current knowledge of healthcare, nursing, and leadership and management principles.
- Excellent cognitive, analytical, critical thinking and creative abilities.
- Ability to function in an automated environment, using technology such as microcomputers, telecommunications devices, etc.
