Job Title: Systems/Network Engineer I

Location: Elgin, IL (Onsite)

Pay Rate: $43.92 per hour

Assignment Duration: 2 years (extended in 6-month increments)

Schedule:

• Monday – Friday
• 1st Shift | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Flexible working hours available

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Systems Engineer I to support system-level engineering projects in Elgin, IL. The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of experience in systems engineering, networking, virtualization, and technical support. This role involves system design, requirements management, troubleshooting, customer support, equipment configuration, and improving existing technologies for new applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in system-level design and requirements gathering activities
• Support customer demonstrations and provide technical support throughout project phases
• Modify and upgrade existing system designs
• Improve and adapt existing technologies for new solutions
• Perform root cause analysis to identify and resolve system design issues
• Implement solutions for complex technical problems
• Maintain system-level knowledge of video technologies and related standards
• Configure and support networking equipment, computers, servers, and related systems
• Support system staging and setup activities
• Utilize networking technologies including TCP/IP and Ethernet
• Apply systems engineering methodologies and requirements management tools
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and customers
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and communicate effectively in written and verbal formats

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• 1–3 years of relevant systems engineering or related technical experience
• Knowledge of system-level design and requirements management
• Experience with networking technologies including TCP/IP and Ethernet
• Experience with servers and virtualization technologies
• Familiarity with VMware or virtual machine environments
• UNIX/Linux experience preferred
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Skills:

• System engineering and requirements management tools experience
• Networking experience (1–3 years preferred)
• Root cause analysis and problem-solving abilities
• Experience configuring technical equipment and systems
• Understanding of video technologies and standards
• CCNA or Network certification is a plus
