CDL Driver – Class A
Location: Freedom, PA
Pay Rate: $28.00 – $29.00 per hour
Contract Type: Temporary (6‑month duration)
Schedule: Monday–Friday (hours based on delivery schedule)
Standard Hours: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Lunch: Paid lunch while driving/delivering; 30‑minute unpaid lunch when working in the shop
Role Mix: Approximately 90–95% driving / 5–10% warehouse work
Job Overview
The CDL Driver (Class A) is responsible for delivering fire sprinkler pipe and installation supplies using a variety of flatbed equipment, including single axle flatbeds, tandem axle flatbeds, and 48‑foot tractor trailers (automatic transmission).
This is primarily a driving-focused position with routes extending up to 5 hours from the branch location. When not on the road, drivers will assist with staging orders, loading trucks, and supporting warehouse operations as needed.
Must‑Haves
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- State-issued non-excepted interstate self-certification designation (proof required)
- Minimum 1 year of Class A driving experience
- CDL held for at least 1 year
- Smartphone savvy
- Excellent customer service skills
- Dependable and punctual attendance
- Strong safety awareness and professionalism
Nice to Have
- Moffett experience
- Forklift experience
Qualifications
- Experience operating Class A flatbed equipment
- Ability to secure loads safely and efficiently
- Strong communication and customer interaction skills
- Ability to work independently and manage delivery schedules

ResponsibilitiesDriving & Delivery
- Operate Class A vehicles, including:
- Single axle flatbeds
- Tandem axle flatbeds
- 48' tractor trailers
- Deliver fire sprinkler pipe and related materials to customer locations
- Validate routes and delivery instructions
- Ensure loads are secured and within weight regulations
- Obtain customer signatures and delivery confirmations
Warehouse Support
- Stage orders for upcoming deliveries
- Load outbound trucks
- Assist with unloading inbound deliveries
- Support general warehouse operations as needed
Customer Service
- Represent the company professionally during deliveries
- Communicate effectively with customers and supervisors
- Handle returns and pickup requests when required
Safety & Compliance
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Comply with all DOT regulations and company policies
- Report vehicle issues, accidents, or safety concerns immediately
- Maintain a safe work environment at all times
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and handle delivery materials as needed
- Frequent climbing, walking, bending, and securing loads
- Ability to assist with warehouse activities when required
