Schedule: Monday–Friday | 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Contract: Temporary – 12-month assignment
Overtime: Likely based on business needs

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced CDL Class B Driver to support local deliveries and warehouse operations in Cohoes, NY.

This position is approximately 70% driving and 30% warehouse work. The driver will operate company vehicles including F250 pickups, F550 flatbeds, and International flatbed trucks (automatic transmission) to deliver pipe, valves, fittings, and related materials to customer locations.

Routes are primarily local, with the furthest deliveries approximately 2 hours from the branch, allowing drivers to return home daily.

When not making deliveries, the driver will assist with warehouse activities including picking and packing orders, receiving materials, stocking inventory, and general warehouse support.

Required Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
• Must have held a CDL for at least 1 year
• Minimum 1 year of Class B driving experience
• State-issued non-excepted interstate self-certification designation with proof
• At least 1 year of warehouse experience
• At least 1 year of customer service experience
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Reliable transportation to and from the work location
• Strong attendance, punctuality, and reliability
• Ability to interact professionally with customers
• Comfortable performing both driving and warehouse responsibilities
• Comfortable operating vehicles equipped with driver and vehicle cameras

Key ResponsibilitiesDriving & Deliveries

• Safely operate Class B commercial vehicles and company delivery trucks
• Deliver pipe, valves, fittings, and related materials according to assigned schedules
• Verify delivery locations and directions before departure
• Ensure materials are properly secured and within legal weight limits
• Load, unload, or assist with unloading materials as required
• Obtain customer signatures and complete delivery documentation
• Pick up customer returns and local purchase orders as assigned
• Communicate with supervisors throughout the workday

Warehouse Support

• Pick and pack customer orders
• Receive incoming materials and inventory
• Stock and put away products in designated locations
• Assist with material handling and warehouse organization
• Support general warehouse operations when not making deliveries

Safety & DOT Compliance

• Perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Follow all applicable DOT regulations, safety procedures, and company policies
• Ensure loads are properly secured before transportation
• Report vehicle problems, defects, accidents, or moving violations immediately
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment

Customer Service

• Represent the company professionally during all customer interactions
• Provide courteous and reliable service during deliveries
• Communicate effectively with customers, warehouse staff, and supervisors
• Verify delivery documentation and customer signatures for accuracy

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and handle materials throughout the workday
• Comfortable working in both driving and warehouse environments
