Description
- Supervises and administers all work conducted in the DFSS FCCH Early Head Start and Head Start program.
- Implements procedures and oversee the recruitment and enrollment of families into the program.
- Develops and maintains relationship with families, program providers, partners and funders.
- Collaborates with the Family Support Specialist to develop effective partnership with families by addressing parents’ concerns.
- Organizes and facilitates regular team meetings for program staff.
- Provides training and guidance for all Family Child Care Home providers.
- Responsible for the hiring of staff and annual evaluation of staff performance.
- Manages assignments of staff for FCCH services.
- Develops and implements reports, presentations, and advertising for program.
- Provides monthly individual reflective supervision and supports professional development of the program staff.
- Manages all program paperwork and reporting.
- Handles the monetary and budgetary requirements for program activities according to approved agency procedures for check requests, petty cash, vouchers, receipts/documentation and pay outs for food and materials.
- Participates in the development of program policies, service delivery plans and ongoing monitoring of program quality.
- Collaborates with the Family Support Specialist in case management screenings and staffing.
- Encourages parent participation in the Early & Head Start Parent Policy Committee meetings as well as other events and trainings.
- Maintains inventory of all program equipment.
- Ensures all assigned program reports are completed and submitted in a timely manner.
- Ensures all mandates of Early & Head Start performance standards are met.
- Serves as an advocate for Head Start families and as a liaison between families, the program, and the large community.
- Collaborates with the Manager of Early Childhood Programs to assure staff’s attainment of the programs quantitative goals.
- Participates in program planning with the Manager and Leadership team as needed.
- Collaborates with the Manager of Early Childhood Programs to conceptualize and implement expanded programming in the community, as needed.
- Collaborates with the Evaluation Department and submits all statistical reports as needed.
- Attends and participates regularly staff and managerial meetings.
- Participates in on-going trainings and professional development provided by DFSS, SGA, other consultants, workshops and conferences.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
- Gateways Credential level 5
- A master’s degree in Early Childhood from an accredited school preferred.
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working with young children including infants and toddlers is required.
- A minimum of three years of experience working in Early Childhood Development.
- A minimum of 2-3 years working with family childcare providers.
- Early Childhood administrator experience.
- Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and access to an automobile.
- Knowledge of and experience working within early childhood development and education.
- Bilingual/Bicultural in English and Spanish preferred, not required.
- Displays sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural differences present in SGA service population. Ability to communicate and cooperate with diverse families, various professionals and community groups.
- Must be able to work in a fast pace environment.
