TITLE: Systems Change Advocate

FTE: Part-time, non-exempt, hourly (24 hours per week)

Pay Range: $20/hr - $22/hr

REPORTS TO: Systems Change Program Manager

BENEFITS: Earned Safe and Sick Time

The Sexual Violence Center is a public, non-profit organization working in Carver, Hennepin, and Scott Counties. We support people impacted by sexual violence through crisis intervention, case management, outreach, education, and systems change.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Support and coordinate the work of SVC's Carver County Sexual Assault Response Team (CC SART) (85%):

• Maintain communication with partner agencies participating in the multi-disciplinary teams.
• Ensure orientation to the protocol development process is provided for program staff and multi-disciplinary members as necessary.
• Annually review the mission statement of the CC SART and revise as needed.
• Problem-solve issues and mediate problems between people and/or agencies in partnership with SVC leadership, as needed.
• Promote and offer opportunities to build cultural competency within the MTDs
• Schedule, organize, and coordinate team activities such as meeting locations, minutes, and new team member orientation.
• Integrate into the position the underlying philosophies of SVC’s advocacy services and anti-oppression work.
• Work with the Executive Director to develop a tool to determine the impact of the protocol on how sexual assault victims are treated, including the impact of the protocol on the system.
• Gather, compile, disseminate, and maintain detailed records for the project.
• Prepare and promptly submit all necessary project reports and updates.
• Coordinate with the Sexual Violence Justice Institute (SVJI), including participating in monthly Site Coordinators’ meetings

Build awareness of and respond to the demand for SVC direct service delivery in Carver (15%):

• Support SVC's direct service delivery by providing services, including but not limited to medical advocacy, crisis line, crisis intervention, support groups, and outreach.
• Engage and support volunteers and interns assigned to the Scott County office or events
• Co-facilitate a support group for survivors at least 2 times per year.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills, Experience, and Characteristics:

• Prior experience facilitating or coordinating teams
• Have a working knowledge of strategies and methods of support for victims/survivors of sexual violence.
• Must be able to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and marginalized communities.
• A strong commitment to social justice and dismantling of all forms of oppression.
• Flexible and adaptable to a fluid work environment
• Team-oriented person who will foster a positive working environment.
• Knowledge of community and criminal justice systems.
• Prior experience with drafting documents, facilitation, and public speaking skills.

Preferred Skills, Experience, and Characteristics:

• Applicants residing in Carver or Scott Counties, preferred
