Summary
The Government Relations Liaison oversees the day-to-day activities of an aggressive government relations agenda impacting Sevita, working closely with state and corporate leadership, state associations and contractors as appropriate. Manages multiple priorities simultaneously.

Essential Job Functions
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function listed below.
- In collaboration with the Government Relations Director, develop and execute an internal advocacy agenda to train and educate teams across divisions and states on key tenants of government relations including risk mitigation, strategic visibility, thought leadership, champion development and other related topics.
- Foster and support strategic relationship building on a state and regional level among external and internal stakeholders to help drive business development opportunities and advance public policy, advocacy, and issue awareness that is consistent with overall company priorities and acting in the best interests of the individuals served.
- Strong ability to work collaboratively and serve as a key resource for multiple states and stakeholders.
- Track, analyze and recommend positions on legislation and regulations that affect the interest of the business.
- Coordinate and partner on grassroots or other local efforts, as required by the circumstances of the legislation, regulations, or policy goals;
- Have strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills across a broad variety of platforms including public speaking
- Experience or knowledge working on the subjects of chronic disease, chronic conditions, brain injury, or long term care a plus but not required.

Education And Experience
- BA/BS required.
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in state or federal government, politics, health policy, healthcare communications and advocacy or another related field and be self-starter and team player with the ability to set and meet deadlines.
- Experience with Medicaid fiscal, regulatory, and political dynamics, and advocacy preferred but not required.
