Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident’s
lifts. - Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing behavior, and reporting changes to healthcare teams promptly.
- Support medication administration and ensure adherence to care plans while maintaining HIPAA compliance for client confidentiality.
- Prepare nutritious meals, assist with cooking, and maintain cleanliness in client living spaces to promote a safe and hygienic environment.
- Engage clients in social activities and community outings to foster social skills and independence.
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and facility policies.
- Collaborate with nursing staff, social workers, and family members to develop and implement personalized care plans focused on individual needs.
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, group homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer’s and memory care), hospice care, and autism support enhances your ability to provide specialized assistance.
- Certification in CPR, First Aid, and medication administration is advantageous; ongoing training in HIPAA regulations is required.
- Experience with patient monitoring tools such as vital sign measurement and behavioral assessments is beneficial.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident’s
lifts; physical stamina is essential. - Familiarity with working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays helps tailor supportive strategies effectively.
