Line Lead

Job Summary: Responsible for ensuring the production line runs effectively, efficiently, and safely so pasta is packaged to company specifications and standards.

Responsibilities:

• Properly document all activities
• Cleaning equipment, assembling boxes, and changing rolls of film and quality control checks*Ҩ
• Responsible for recording the quantity, weight, size, and other data according to the type of product packaged Ҩ
• Preparing boxes and printing labels as needed
• Lining boxes with plastic bags
• Sealing pre-made bags
• Working on packaging line filling boxes with packaged pasta
• Lifting boxes and placing them on a pallet
• Placing prepared manicotti into a tray and then onto a conveyor belt*
• Placing frozen trays into a box for frozen storage*
• Preparing all confirmed repack products, properly documenting and labeling items according to company policies* Ҩ
• Depending upon production needs and individual performance, the management may move a packaging employee to another department
• All employees are responsible for cleaning tasks including, but are not limited to: covering, scraping, washing, and disinfecting machinery
• Identify, resolve or escalate any food safety concerns

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to   write routine reports and correspondence
• Some knowledge of the English language

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or less than one year of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Work Environment:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts; and toxic or caustic chemicals
• The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock
• Hot or cold temperatures
• The noise level in the work environment is loud

Physical Requirements:

• Able to lift or move up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Ability to stand for long periods
• The employee is frequently required to walk and talk or listen to other employees/line leaders/supervisor
