What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Acquisition Specialist position at Seventh Sense Consulting, LLC?

In anticipation of a contract award, we are looking for a Senior Acquisition Specialist to join our team.

Hiring Timeframe: Upcoming

Work Location: This position will be performed on site in Camp Springs, MD. Seventh Sense will support your commute by contributing over $1,500 annually to your Transportation FSA. 

What You'll Do:
 

  • Carry out pre-determined and recurring cradle to grave contract specialist duties.
  • Conduct acquisition planning, solicitation preparation, market research/analysis, source selection and administration of terms and conditions, cost/price analysis, negotiation, preparation of contract award, and modifications.  Support government in the evaluation of contractor performance, contract terminations, and contract closeouts.  
  • Support process improvements and change management efforts related to FAR and agency policy changes.

Must Haves:  
 
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 24 hours in business-related courses in any of the following fields: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management.
  • 10 years of relevant contract specialist experience. 
  • Expert knowledge in pre-award contract support and post-award contract management.
  • Knowledge and exposure to cost reimbursement/cost sharing contracts and review of claims and equitable adjustments.  
  • Ability to simultaneously manage, coordinate and pursue multiple, complex projects and activities.  
  • Extensive knowledge of the FAR and/or associated FAR supplements.
  • Contracting experience with FAR 8.4, 12, 13, 15, and 16
  • Acquisition planning, market research, and drafting technical requirements.
  • Must be proficient in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word.  
  • Documented experience leading a team of contract specialists.
  • Documented experience implementing process improvements.
  • Documented experience supporting O6/GO-level leadership environments.
