Seven Trees Woodworking is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator – Architectural Millwork to join our team. We are a custom architectural millwork company that values craftsmanship, teamwork, accountability, and doing things the right way. Our team works closely across estimating, project management, engineering, production, and installation to deliver high-quality custom work for our clients.
We are looking for someone who enjoys being part of a collaborative, hands-on environment where people know each other, communicate directly, and work together to solve problems. This position is responsible for reviewing architectural millwork projects, identifying project scope, developing accurate cost estimates, and preparing proposals for clients.
Responsibilities:
- Review drawings, specifications, and other project documents to determine project scope and requirements.
- Prepare detailed project estimates and job-cost spreadsheets.
- Develop clear and accurate proposals for clients.
- Identify missing or unclear project information and communicate with clients, architects, contractors, or other appropriate parties to obtain clarification and RFIs.
- Respond to client questions regarding estimates and proposals.
- Follow up on submitted proposals as needed.
- Perform material, labor, and other cost analyses to support accurate estimating.
- Assist with cost studies and continued development of estimating standards, processes, and tools.
- Work closely with the Lead Estimator, Business Development, and Project Management teams.
- Source materials, products, and specialty items as required for estimating and project needs.
- Obtain and submit samples when necessary.
- Assist with engineering and project documentation, including binders and other supporting materials.
- Assist with material ordering and procurement when required.
- Perform field measurements and site visits as needed.
- Support Project Managers with estimating-related and preconstruction tasks.
- Maintain accurate and organized estimating documentation and project information.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous estimating experience required; architectural millwork, cabinetry, woodworking, construction, or a related industry is strongly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, plans, specifications, and construction documents.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to develop detailed cost estimates and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable communicating with clients, vendors, contractors, architects, and internal team members.
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn estimating and project-management software.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with a team.
- Strong organizational and follow-through skills.
Schedule:
Monday–Thursday: 7:00 AM–4:00 PM
Friday: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM
As a salaried employee, occasional additional hours may be required based on business needs. The position is generally expected to average approximately 40–45 hours per week.
