Key Responsibilities of the Interventional Radiologic Technologist
- Assist physicians with interventional radiology procedures using advanced imaging technology
- Prepare patients for procedures and ensure they understand the process
- Operate and maintain radiologic imaging equipment safely and effectively
- Maintain sterile technique and follow infection control procedures
- Monitor patients during procedures and report any changes to the clinical team
- Prepare and position patients accurately for diagnostic and interventional procedures
- Ensure radiation safety protocols are followed at all times
- Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation
- Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals
- Ensure equipment, supplies, and procedure rooms are prepared and ready for use
Requirements of the Interventional Radiologic Technologist Role
- Current BLS certification
- Current ARRT certification
- Minimum 2 years of recent Interventional Radiologic Technologist experience
- Strong knowledge of interventional radiology procedures and imaging technology
- Experience working in a hospital or acute care environment
- Excellent communication, clinical, and organisational skills
