Key Responsibilities of the Travel NICU RN:
- Provide specialised nursing care to premature, critically ill, and medically complex newborns
- Assess, monitor, and document neonatal health status and progress
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as prescribed
- Monitor vital signs and respond promptly to changes in a newborn’s condition
- Operate and monitor specialised neonatal equipment
- Collaborate with neonatologists, physicians, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and electronic medical records
- Educate and support parents and families regarding their newborn’s care
- Follow infection control, patient safety, and clinical protocols
Requirements for the Travel NICU RN:
- Active Louisiana (LA) Registered Nurse (RN) License
- BLS Certification
- NRP Certification
- STABLE Certification
- Minimum 2 years of recent NICU nursing experience
