Key Responsibilities of the CT Technologist
- Perform CT examinations according to physician orders and established imaging protocols
- Position and prepare patients accurately to obtain high-quality diagnostic images
- Operate CT scanning equipment safely and effectively
- Administer contrast media as required and monitor patients for any adverse reactions
- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation
- Follow radiation safety, infection control, and departmental protocols
- Explain procedures clearly to patients and provide reassurance throughout examinations
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other members of the diagnostic imaging team
- Maintain a high standard of patient care while working efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Requirements of the CT Technologist Role
- Current BLS certification
- Current ARRT certification
- Minimum 2 years of recent CT Technologist experience
- Strong knowledge of CT procedures, imaging protocols, and radiation safety
- Excellent technical, communication, and patient care skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
