Overview
The HR Generalist plays a key role in supporting Sev-Rend’s people operations and ensuring a positive, compliant, and high-performing workplace. This role is responsible for a broad range of HR functions, including recruitment support, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, HR compliance, training coordination, and maintaining accurate employee data. The HR Generalist serves as a trusted resource for employees and supervisors and helps uphold Sev-Rend’s values through consistent HR practices.
Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Support full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, screening applicants, coordinating interviews, and partnering with hiring managers.
- Oversee new hire onboarding and orientation to ensure a positive, compliant start for all employees.
- Maintain job descriptions and assist with internal mobility processes.
Employee Relations & Communication
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee questions related to HR policies, benefits, PTO, and general employment matters.
- Provide guidance to supervisors and employees while helping foster a respectful and inclusive work environment.
- Support conflict resolution and escalation processes as needed.
HR Operations & Compliance
- Maintain employee records within the HRIS (Paylocity) to ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and data integrity.
- Review payroll batches for accuracy and serve as processing backup.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, wage & hour, and safety-related requirements.
- Assist in documenting, updating, and communicating HR policies and procedures.
Benefits & Leave Administration
- Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, changes, and annual open enrollment activities.
- Manage PTO tracking, attendance records, and leave-of-absence processes, ensuring timely communication and documentation.
- Collaborate with benefits vendors and assist employees in resolving benefit-related questions.
Training & Development
- Coordinate and track required trainings across the organization.
- Support leadership in identifying training needs and implementing development programs.
HR Reporting & Metrics
- Gather, track, and analyze HR metrics such as turnover, headcount, recruiting KPIs, and engagement data.
- Prepare reports to support leadership decision-making and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an HR Generalist
- Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures
- Good knowledge of employment/labor laws
- Working knowledge of MS Office; HRIS systems (e.g. Paylocity) will be a plus
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Aptitude in problem-solving
- Desire to work as a team with a results driven approach
- Degree in Human Resource Management or relevant field
- Additional HR training will be a plus

Salary : $55,000 - $65,000
