About the Role
SET Environmental is seeking an ER Field Technician to support a wide range of environmental response and remediation projects. From industrial cleaning and hazardous materials cleanup to confined space entry and waterway response, you will be on the front lines of environmental safety.
This is a full-time field position that requires a high level of physical activity and the flexibility to respond to both scheduled projects and emergency assignments.
What You’ll Do
- Safety Leadership: Prioritize the safety of the crew and site by identifying hazards, communicating risks, and strictly following SET safety policies.
- Emergency Response: Participate in on-call rotations for emergency spill response across various industrial and environmental settings.
- Equipment Operation: Expertly use hand tools (shovels, squeegees) and operate light equipment, including pressure washers and industrial vacuum systems.
- Project Support: Execute diverse scopes of work including Confined Space Entry (CSE), waterway spill response, and hazardous materials cleanup.
- Logistics & Staging: Stage, load, and maintain equipment and supplies to ensure project requirements are met efficiently.
- Field Execution: Perform physically demanding labor, including lifting materials up to 50 lbs, in varying weather and site conditions.
- Compliance: Ensure all project delivery is safe, timely, and compliant with environmental regulations.
What You Bring
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Experience: Previous industry or construction experience is a plus, but we provide comprehensive training for the right candidate.
- Certification: 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification (or the ability to obtain it through SET-provided training).

Requirements
- Availability: Willingness to travel to customer sites, including out-of-town projects and participation in an after-hours/weekend on-call rotation.
- Physical Fitness: Must pass a DOT physical and be able to lift/move up to 50 lbs frequently.
- Valid driver’s license with a record that meets SET insurance guidelines.
- Must pass:
- Local, state, and federal background checks.
- Drug and alcohol screening (must remain drug-free while on duty).
- English proficiency (speak, read, and write).
