Overview
The Contents Technician is responsible for assisting with the cleaning, packing, and storage of personal property & structural materials affected by fire, water, and mold damage. This position plays a vital role in the restoration process by carefully handling and restoring customers' belongings under the direction of the Crew Leader or Contents Manager.
Primary Responsbilities
- Assist in responding to fire and water losses by packing, moving, and documenting contents.
- Perform the cleaning of affected structure materials & contents, including soot removal, odor elimination, and drying techniques following IICRC standards.
- Follow direction from the Crew Leader during move-outs and move-backs, ensuring proper handling and care of customer belongings.
- Maintain accurate labeling and organization of contents during the packing, transport, and storage process.
- Participate in the setup and breakdown of cleaning areas, ensuring equipment and supplies are maintained and returned properly.
- Capture before-and-after photos, complete job notes, and document all work performed to ensure thorough and transparent reporting.
- Assist in warehouse organization and cleanliness.
- Prepare supplies and equipment for all job sites
- Follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE when needed/required.
- Maintain a professional appearance and uphold SERVPRO standards at all job sites.
- Communicate respectfully and clearly with customers and team members.
- Other tasks/duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED preferred
- IICRC certifications preferred
- Experience in cleaning, restoration, or construction preferred
- Strong work ethic
- Strong oral communication skills
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and pass a background check
- Must have a valid drivers license to drive company vehicle
Physical and Work Environment Requirements:
Regularly lifting 50 pounds independently, occasionally lifting up to 100 pounds with assistance, walking and standing for long periods of time, driving, sitting, climbing ladders, working at ceiling heights, working in tight spaces (i.e. crawl spaces, attics), repetitive pushing/pulling/lifting/carrying objects, working with and around chemicals, and working overhead.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions such as heat, noxious odors, etc. The noise level in the work environment and jobsites may be loud. The employee will be required to occasionally wear a respirator for their safety.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
