Summary
The HR/Talent Acquisition Manager plays a key role in supporting the organization’s people operations by coordinating HR processes across onboarding, talent acquisition, leaves of absence, safety, compliance, and benefits administration. This position ensures a positive employee experience, regulatory compliance, and efficient HR service delivery across all business units, including support for regional operations.
Primary Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition
- Source, screen, and interview qualified candidates across multiple departments.
- Coordinate interview schedules and maintain consistent candidate communication throughout the hiring process.
Onboarding
- Send offer communications and coordinate background checks, equipment setup, and first-day schedules.
- Facilitate smooth onboarding and orientation for new hires, ensuring all documentation and compliance requirements are met.
Leave of Absence Administration
- Provide employees with required leave documentation and track leave status and return-to-work dates.
- File and monitor EDD forms and ensure compliance with state and federal leave laws (FMLA, CFRA, PDL).
Workers’ Compensation
- File and track workers’ compensation claims and employee work restrictions.
- Manage OSHA reporting, coordinate with carriers and counsel, and support claim-related litigation.
Employee Relations
- Support a positive workplace culture by addressing employee concerns, facilitating conflict resolution, and improving engagement.
- Conduct thorough and objective workplace investigations, ensuring appropriate documentation and follow-up with management.
Compliance
- Ensure company compliance with all applicable labor and employment laws, including ACA, EEOC, OSHA, and Workers’ Compensation requirements.
- Stay current with federal and state employment law updates and recommend policy adjustments as needed.
- Oversee company Safety Program.
Payroll Support
- Serve as a backup for payroll processing.
- Review payroll reports for accuracy, manage deductions, and process vacation or time-off requests.
- Prevailing wage - submit DAS 140/142 forms, arrange apprentice participation, and manage fringe benefit contribution submissions.
Administration
- Benefits – open enrollment, 401k administration
- Insurance Support - Assist with driver additions, vehicle registrations, and accident reporting to ensure accurate insurance records.
- Respond to and prepare verification of employment or income letters in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 5 years of progressively responsible HR and talent acquisition experience.
- Strong understanding of California and federal employment laws.
- Experience with payroll and HRIS systems.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.

Salary: $90,000- $120,000, pending experience
