Position Overview
As an Economics Teacher at Servite High School, the candidate will:
Teach five periods per day, including Economics (College Preparatory and AP levels), with the ability to teach courses in World and/or U.S. History.
Design and deliver engaging lessons that emphasize economic reasoning, historical analysis, and real-world application.
Support students in developing critical thinking skills, financial awareness, and a strong understanding of economic systems and civic responsibility.
Foster discussion, debate, and inquiry around current events, public policy, and global issues.
Collaborate with the Social Studies Department and administration to align curriculum, assessments, and instructional practices.
Integrate Servite’s Catholic mission and values into classroom culture and instruction, emphasizing ethical leadership and service to others.
Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to the life of the school community.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a candidate who:
Is passionate about teaching economics and the social sciences.
Demonstrates strong content knowledge in economics and the ability to teach AP-level coursework, with flexibility to teach history courses as needed.
Is highly organized, student-centered, and able to engage motivated learners.
Has prior teaching experience (preferred), including experience with AP and/or upper-level coursework.
Embraces Servite’s Catholic identity and mission of forming young men of faith, character, and leadership.
