Qualifications
Special Education (282) Certification and current CHRC Authorization
through the State of Maine Department of Education.
Description: Waterville Public Schools is seeking a qualified candidate with experience
working with students who have cognitive, developmental, and intellectual disabilities,
including those on the autism spectrum. Preferred candidates will have a background in
designing and implementing individualized instruction tailored to a wide range of
cognitive, communication, behavioral, and sensory needs. Experience in supervising
and managing a team of Behavioral Health Professionals (BHPs) is also highly
desirable.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide individualized and small-group instruction focused on functional academics,
communication, self-care, and social-emotional development.
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with
families and the IEP team.
Create a structured, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment that meets the diverse
needs of students.
Supervise and collaborate with educational technicians to deliver consistent, effective
instructional and behavioral support.
Collect and analyze student data to inform instruction, track progress, and report on goals and
objectives.
