What are the responsibilities and job description for the SPED Ed Tech III - Westbrook High School position at ServingSchools?
The Westbrook School Department is seeking a full time Educational Technician III within the Westbrook HIgh School. The position will require supporting students with a range of needs, in grades 9-12, within the special education and general education settings. The position requires the ability to work with students at varying levels academically, socially, and emotionally. The qualified candidate will be given: competitive salaries and benefits, three college courses paid each year (University of Maine rate), continued professional development, and opportunities for summer employment. The candidate will become part of our devoted, friendly, and collaborative special education team.
Westbrook's Special Services Department provides student-centered instruction to support the diverse learning needs of students districtwide, in grades kindergarten through high school. Our innovative and dedicated staff employ evidence based literacy and mathematics programs to promote student success. We offer programming and a variety of related services across a continuum of settings. These programs foster a learning community that supports student’s academic, social-emotional, functional, and pre-vocational needs. Our Special Services Department offers a collaborative work environment that sets high expectations for our staff and students. Our commitment to students and families is unsurpassed. The needs of individual learners are recognized and met through the work of our exemplary staff and diverse programming. We offer a wide range of extracurricular clubs, activities and athletic teams. Our staff endeavors to build positive relationships with students to promote, support and enhance learning. We collaborate in teams at the freshmen and sophomore levels to provide a social emotional curriculum, assess student data, implement interventions, and talk about best practice. Westbrook High School offers a STEM endorsed diploma and a Visual & Performing Arts endorsed diploma. We also offer programming to prepare students for Westbrook Regional Technical Center and PATHS. Finally, we are proud to prepare students for the Seal of Bi-Literacy through our Multilingual Learner programming and our Modern and Classical Language courses. Westbrook High School has become a springboard for students to join the military, enter the workforce or go onto college through relevant and rigorous coursework and the guidance of our Aspirations Counselor and Student Services Department.
