Duties And Responsibilities
- Design and implement engaging science curricula for middle school and high school students, including courses such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Earth Science, and General Science.
- Deliver engaging lessons that encourage scientific inquiry, experimentation, and critical thinking while integrating a biblical perspective on the study of creation.
- Plan and supervise laboratory experiments, demonstrations, and hands-on investigations that reinforce scientific concepts and promote safe laboratory practices.
- Utilize learning technology and instructional design strategies to support differentiated instruction and enhance student engagement in science learning.
- Mentor students in their academic and personal growth through academic advising, tutoring, and positive classroom management.
- Assess student learning through quizzes, tests, lab reports, projects, and formative assessments, providing meaningful feedback that promotes improvement and mastery.
- Collaborate with faculty and administration on curriculum development, interdisciplinary projects, and STEM-related initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and instructional activities in compliance with school and education administration standards.
- Participate in school life by supporting chapel, student activities, field trips, and extracurricular science opportunities that enrich the student experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Science Education, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Earth Science, or a related field (advanced degrees preferred).
- Demonstrated experience teaching secondary-level science, preferably in a private or Christian school setting.
- Ability to teach a range of science subjects including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Earth Science, and middle school general science.
- Strong knowledge of scientific inquiry, laboratory instruction, curriculum development, and student assessment methods.
- Commitment to integrating faith and learning in a Christ-centered educational environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for engaging students, families, and colleagues.
- Strong organizational skills to manage lesson planning, lab preparation, classroom activities, and instructional materials.
- Familiarity with educational technology, digital science resources, and research tools that support STEM instruction.
- Demonstrates a mature Christian faith and lifestyle consistent with biblical values.
- Serves as a positive Christian role model for students through character, integrity, and servant leadership.
