Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and professional Custodian to join our facilities team. This position plays a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, families, and community members.
This role requires flexibility and reliability, especially as work priorities may shift. Custodians must be able to follow instructions and maintain effective working relationships with the Head Custodian, coworkers, Facilities Manager, and other building occupants. Trustworthiness is essential, particularly regarding late-night building security and responsibility for the cleanliness and upkeep of our facilities.

Some Key Responsibilities (not a Full List)
- Clean hallways, classrooms, offices, gyms, restrooms, walls, and other assigned areas.
- Collect and dispose of trash; pick up litter in and around the building.
- Sanitize high-touch surfaces and clean windows and walls.
- Restock paper and cleaning supplies in bathrooms and classrooms.
- Report cleaning or maintenance issues to the Facilities Manager.
- Perform manual cleaning tasks and operate floor-cleaning machinery (training provided).
- Move and arrange furniture as needed.
- Climb ladders up to 8 feet and carry equipment or supplies.
- Ensure all areas are secure and unoccupied before ending the shift.
Preferred Qualifications And Experience
- No previous experience needed- just the attitude to learn and the ability to work collaboratively and independently
- Demonstrated reliability and consistent quality of work.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
- The ability to interact respectfully with students, staff, and community members.
- Willingness to learn and take initiative.
- Physical ability to perform tasks involving lifting, bending, climbing, and operating custodial equipment.
- Ability to access email
- Interest in potential career growth within the facilities department.
