High School Special Education Teachers (2)

Ellsworth High School is seeking two dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teachers to join our high school team.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs
• Design and deliver engaging lessons adapted to meet individual student needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusion and differentiated instruction
• Assess student progress and maintain accurate records
• Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders
• Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on student goals and accommodations
• Stay current with best practices in special education and instruction
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education, or related field (Master's preferred)
• Valid state teaching license with endorsements in Special Education
• Experience teaching high school students with diverse learning needs
• Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive equipment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with students with special needs
  
  

Preferred Skills

• Experience with co-teaching models
• Knowledge of transition planning for students with disabilities
• Proficiency in using educational technology and learning management systems
