Position Summary
North Yarmouth Academy (NYA) seeks an experienced and dynamic Head Varsity Girls Ice Hockey Coach to lead one of the Academy's most successful athletic programs. This is a unique opportunity to guide a championship-level NEPSAC girls hockey program within a highly regarded independent school community.
Reporting directly to the Athletic Director, the Head Coach will build upon a strong tradition of excellence while continuing to advance the program's competitive success and student-athlete development.
NYA Girls Ice Hockey competes in the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) as a member of the Vaillancourt Conference. The program has captured the Vaillancourt Conference Championship in each of the past three seasons (2024, 2025, and 2026) and is recognized for its commitment to competitive excellence, character development, and community.
Essential Functions
The Head Varsity Girls Ice Hockey Coach is responsible for all aspects of the varsity program, including:
An important component of this role is identifying, recruiting, and supporting mission-aligned student-athletes who will contribute positively to the academic, athletic, and community life of NYA. The Head Coach will work collaboratively with the Athletic and Admission offices to support enrollment and recruitment efforts.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Athletic Director.
Preferred
The ideal candidate will have significant coaching experience at a high level, with collegiate playing and/or coaching experience preferred. Successful candidates will demonstrate:
This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position. In addition to coaching responsibilities, the successful candidate will contribute to the broader life of the Academy through responsibilities aligned with their experience, interests, and strengths. These may include teaching, residential life, student activities, or other school-based roles.
The position is available immediately in preparation for the 2026-2027 academic year and hockey season.
