We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Childcare Provider/ Duty Aide to join our team. As a Childcare Provider/Duty Aide, you will be responsible for creating a safe and nurturing environment for children, helping them learn and grow through various activities and educational programs. Your role will involve providing care, supervising playtime, assisting with homework, and ensuring the well-being of each child in your care.
Responsibilities
ACADIA Academy has a full-time student monitor/childcare teacher position opening. The position is Monday through Friday with a paid base starting at $16.00 an hour, with a monthly stipend of 240.00 while the grant is active. Hours are 9:00-5:30.
Benefits, 10 paid sick days, 10 paid holidays, paid snow days,(as per school calendar) paid week in Dec, and paid week in July.
Responsibilities
- Provide a safe and supportive environment for children
- Supervise children during playtime and ensure their safety at all times
- Assist with homework assignments and provide educational support
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities to stimulate learning and development
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns that may arise
- Manage conflicts between children and encourage positive behavior
- Collaborate with other childcare providers to create a cohesive team environment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the childcare facility
- Previous experience working with children in a childcare or classroom setting
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues
- Knowledge of child development principles and age-appropriate activities
- Ability to educate and engage children in various subjects
- Familiarity with special education needs and behavior management techniques
- First aid certification is preferred but not required
