Falmouth Public Schools is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Finance and Operations Specialist to support and strengthen the district's financial and operational functions. This position plays a key role in managing core accounting processes, conducting financial and operational analysis, and leading special projects that improve efficiency, compliance, and strategic decision-making across the organization.

- Conduct financial and operational analyses, including budget monitoring, forecasting support, and variance analysis
- Lead and support special projects aligned to district priorities, including research, analysis, and implementation
- Manage accounts payable and select accounts receivable functions, including billing, collections, and reconciliations
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation to support audits and reporting (including W-9s and 1099s)
- Develop reports, dashboards, and financial models to inform leadership decision-making
- Evaluate operational processes and implement improvements to increase efficiency and strengthen internal controls
- Support procurement, vendor coordination, and contract tracking
- Collaborate with departments to identify needs, solve problems, and implement solutions
- Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience in accounting, finance, or operational analysis preferred
- School district or public sector experience a plus
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality
- Proficiency with or ability to learn financial and HR systems (e.g., Frontline, Google Workspace, Tyler Technologies, Excel)
- Maine DOE CHRC fingerprinting required prior to employment (renewed every five years)
- The position offers a pay range of $31.25 to $38.46 per hour, depending on experience.
