Assistant Track Coach
Mt. Blue Middle School
Job Goal(s): To instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. At the same time, the coach must instruct and demonstrate behaviors that lead to socially acceptable character development, self discipline, self confidence, and pride of accomplishment in the student athletes. To upgrade his/her knowledge and skills through coaching clinics, observations, consultation, etc.
Qualifications
Has a thorough knowledge of all the athletic policies approved by the Mt. Blue District Schools' Board of Education and is responsible for their implementation.
Has knowledge of existing system, state and league regulations.
Education
The coach must be at least 20 years of age, or a high school graduate.
Experience
Comprehensive knowledge of the game is preferred as well as knowledge of current coaching techniques and procedures. Knowledge of NFHS and MPA Rules. Demonstrate ability to instruct and supervise student athletes.
Working Schedule
Flexible after school hours required for scheduled matches both home and away.
Travel Requirements
Travel to home and away matches. Travel to state team and individual competitions when players qualify.
Reports To: Director of Athletics / Building Administration
Terms of Employment: As determined annually by the District.
Evaluation: Completed annually by Director of Athletics
FLSA Status: Exempt/Non-exempt

- Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
- The coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and, at the same time, must continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the field.
- The coach must serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through his/her instructions and actions.
- Valid CHRC
