MCSCS Site Co-Coordinator

MSAD 54 is seeking applicants for a REACH Afterschool Program Site

Co-Coordinator at MCSCS for the 2026–2027 school year.

  • Approximately 15-20 hours per week during the school year.
  • Must be available to work four days per week, including Mondays and Fridays.
  • Scheduled hours are 2:15–5:15 p.m.
  • Rate of pay: $22.00–$26.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and certification.
  • All REACH staff are eligible to participate in the Maine Early Childhood Educator Supplemental Wage Program through the Maine Roads to Quality (MRTQ) Career Lattice. Depending on education and Career Lattice level, staff may qualify for an additional $240, $360, or $540 per month.

The Site Co-Coordinator is a member of the site leadership team, working collaboratively with another Site Co-Coordinator to oversee the daily operation of a licensed school-age child care program. Together, the Site Co-Coordinators share responsibility for staff leadership, program planning, student support, family engagement, and ensuring compliance with Maine DHHS Child Care Licensing Rules, district policies, and 21st Century Community Learning Center grant requirements.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide shared leadership for daily program operations.
  • Supervise, coach, and support program staff and volunteers.
  • Plan and implement engaging academic enrichment, STEM, recreation, SEL, and enrichment activities.
  • Foster a safe, welcoming, and trauma-responsive learning environment.
  • Ensure compliance with Maine DHHS Child Care Licensing standards and program regulations.
  • Build positive relationships with students, families, school staff, and community partners.
  • Maintain program records, attendance, licensing documentation, and required reports.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required; Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development, Human Services, Recreation, Social Work, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working with school-age children in an educational, child care, or youth development setting.
  • Demonstrated leadership, supervisory, or program coordination experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of, or willingness to become proficient in, Maine DHHS Child Care Licensing Rules and Regulations.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaborative leadership skills.
  • Selected applicant must successfully pass the Maine DHHS fingerprinting process and the Maine Department of Education Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) as a condition of employment.
