Varsity Assistant Football Coach – Waterville Senior High School

This position assists the head coach in planning and conducting practices, developing game strategies, and mentoring student-athletes both on and off the field. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong communication skills, a commitment to sportsmanship, and the ability to build positive relationships with players, staff, and the school community. Prior coaching experience is preferred.
The city of Waterville is located on the banks of the Kennebec River and is easily accessible from two exits off I-95 as well as Route 201. Varsity Assistant Football Coach
- Carry out the aims and objectives of the sport program as outlined by the Head Coach. To instruct athletes in individual and team fundamentals, strategy, and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success.

- Assist head coach with issues, collection and the overall care of uniforms, and equipment;
- Distributes and collects, when necessary, parent permission forms, records of physical exams, and other paperwork required by the athletic department;
- Secures school facilities and equipment after each use;
- Supervises athletes at all times, including games (home and away), practices, and other team functions;
- Reviews, when appropriate, the student athletic handbook with team members, with special attention being given to academic eligibility and the substance abuse policies;
- Promotes the proper care of equipment, uniforms, and facilities at all times;
- Cooperates with head coach and other staff members and discusses confidential matters privately with appropriate personnel;
- Strives to improve coaching skills by attending clinics and using resources provided by the head coach;
- Perform additional tasks as directed.
- Effective interpersonal and organizational skills
- Previous coaching experience preferred
