Waterville Senior High School is seeking an outstanding, certified High School Health and Physical Education teacher to join our Wellness department and inspire students for the 2026-27 school year. The successful candidate will teach a combination of Physical Education and Health courses. The ideal candidate can build strong, positive relationships with students, create an inclusive classroom environment, and utilizes current best practices in health education. They will be passionate about promoting lifelong wellness and empowering students to make healthy, informed decisions.
The city of Waterville is located on the banks of the Kennebec River and is easily accessible from two exits off I-95 as well as Route 201. - Foster meaningful connections with students to support their overall well-being and academic success.
- Create a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies and assessments to meet diverse learning needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues, counselors, and school staff to support student wellness initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned by administration
- Valid Maine teaching certification in Health Education (or ability to obtain).
- Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignments.
- Successful prior teaching experience preferred.
- Passion for health, wellness, and student advocacy.
