This is a full-time, on-site role located in Muskegon, MI, for a Child and Family Therapist. The therapist will provide counseling and therapeutic support to children, adolescents, and their families. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, implementing play therapy techniques, offering individual and group therapy sessions, coordinating services with other agencies, and maintaining thorough documentation. The therapist will play a key role in addressing mental health, behavioral, and emotional challenges using a client-centered and culturally sensitive approach.
- Experience in Play Therapy and a strong ability to implement therapeutic techniques with children
- Background in Social Work and demonstrated skills in providing support for families and individuals
- Expertise in working with children and adolescents, particularly in addressing behavioral, emotional, and developmental challenges
- Proficiency in Mental Health and Case Management, including assessment, treatment planning, and service coordination
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
- Licensure as a counselor, social worker, or marriage and family therapist in the state of Michigan (or eligibility for licensure)
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Commitment to cultural competence and addressing the diverse needs of individuals and families
