Overview
We are seeking an experienced Floor Technician who specializes in floor stripping, waxing, and refinishing. The ideal candidate takes pride in quality workmanship, understands proper floor care procedures, and can work independently or as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Strip, wax, buff, and refinish VCT and other surface floors
- Properly mix and apply floor finish and stripping solutions
- Operate floor machines, buffers, burnishers, and wet/dry vacuums
- Maintain equipment in clean and safe working condition
- Follow safety procedures and use PPE correctly
- Complete assigned jobs efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards
- Communicate professionally with supervisors and clients
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of proven experience in commercial floor care, including stripping, waxing, buffing, and polishing techniques
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures specific to commercial environments
- Ability to operate cleaning machinery such as buffers, extractors, and floor scrubbers safely
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical labor
- Attention to detail and strong work ethic
- Valid DL
- Reliable transportation and strong attendance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with commercial buildings (schools, offices, medical facilities, hospitals, restaurants, retail)
- Ability to work independently
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
