Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced Carpenter or Handyman for our Reconstruction / Rebuild Department. Ideal person will have experience in removing / building / installing custom cabinetry. Experience in general finish carpentry is needed for this role.
Job Type: Full Time, year round
Pay: $18 to $25 per hour depending on experience
Responsibilities
- Work in the field, on residential and commercial projects under the direction of Construction Coordinator, Superintendents, and/or Project Managers.
- General construction, finish carpentry, drywall repair or install, cabinet removal/fabrication/installation, painting, and general repairs
- Ability to work both independently and with other team members to complete projects on time and to customer's satisfaction
- Effectively and proactively communicate with co-workers and supervisors to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget
- Perform other assigned tasks and duties necessary to support the Reconstruction department
- Willingness to work after hours or weekends as required for emergency cabinet removals or other emergency restoration-related work.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years verifiable handyman experience
- Fluent in English - bilingual is a major plus (Spanish/English)
- Basic math skills related to construction
- MUST HAVE a Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation
- Desire to take pride in work completed and to provide excellent customer service on all projects
- Strong work ethic and desire to learn new skills
- Experience with restoration is a plus
Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm
- Some evenings or weekends as needed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
