Systems Administrator (Ridgeland, MS)
Service Specialists is representing a highly respected Mississippi organization that is seeking to add a Systems Administrator to its IT department. Compensation
- Base salary: Up to $98,000
- 8% annual cash bonus opportunity

What You'll Do
Working closely with the IT Manager and broader IT team, you'll support both day-to-day operations and long-term technology initiatives.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows servers, workstation operating systems, and related hardware
- Support an environment of 300 workstations and numerous servers across local and remote locations
- Administer and support VMware, Citrix, Active Directory, Azure, and Microsoft 365 environments
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, security patches, and system updates
- Monitor system performance and ensure high availability of business-critical IT services
- Provide technical support, including participation in an on-call rotation as needed
- Perform workstation deployments, user moves, equipment setup, and technology rollouts
- Assist with IT planning, process improvements, and technology initiatives
- Maintain backup, disaster recovery, and system documentation
- Promote security best practices and ensure compliance with internal IT policies
- Travel occasionally to support acquisitions, equipment deployments, and remote locations
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience and certifications
- 5 years of systems administration or advanced technical support experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration, networking, virtualization, and cloud technologies
- Experience supporting medium to large enterprise environments
- Hands-on experience with:
- Windows Server
- Microsoft SQL Server
- Microsoft Exchange
- Microsoft Azure
- Microsoft 365
- Active Directory
- VMware
- Citrix
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Professional communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- High level of integrity with the ability to work with confidential systems and information
