About the Role
Service Specialists is working with a firm that is seeking an experienced Commercial Real Estate Attorney to join our growing practice. The ideal candidate will handle a diverse range of commercial real estate transactions and provide strategic legal counsel to clients involved in the acquisition, development, leasing, and financing of commercial properties. This role requires both hands-on transactional experience and the ability to manage client relationships with professionalism and integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, leases, easements, and development contracts.
- Review chain of title documents and underwrite owner’s and lender’s policies of title insurance
- Conduct and coordinate due diligence, including title and survey review, zoning analysis, and environmental assessments.
- Advise clients on commercial property acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and financing transactions.
- Represent clients in closings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all applicable regulations and contractual terms.
- Assist clients with entity formation and structure for real estate investments or development projects.
- Coordinate with lenders, brokers, engineers, title companies, and other professionals involved in transactions.
- Counsel clients on property management issues, landlord-tenant disputes, and related real estate matters.
- Stay informed on relevant real estate laws, regulations, and market trends.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in Mississippi.
- 3 years of experience in commercial real estate law, preferably in a law firm or private practice setting.
- Proven experience with complex real estate transactions, including acquisitions, leasing, and financing.
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a client-service mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with commercial lending, 1031 exchanges, or mixed-use developments.
- Knowledge of land use, zoning, and development regulations.
- Portable book of business (a plus, but not required).
