Position Overview
The BIM Manager leads Service Complete Electric’s Building Information Modeling and Virtual Design and Construction efforts across all commercial projects. This role is responsible for establishing BIM standards, overseeing electrical model development, leading trade coordination, and ensuring models directly support prefabrication and field installation.
Ensure BIM deliverables align with project schedules and field installation sequencing.
This is a senior technical leadership role requiring deep electrical construction knowledge, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and direct interaction with project managers, superintendents, general contractors, and trade partners.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
BIM Strategy and Standards
Develop, implement, and maintain company wide BIM standards, workflows, and modeling procedures
Ensure consistent use of Revit, Navisworks, and collaboration platforms across all projects
Evaluate and implement BIM tools and process improvements to increase productivity and reduce rework
Serve as the internal subject matter expert for electrical BIM execution
Establish processes for incorporating field redlines and maintaining accurate installation models
Preconstruction and Project Setup
Review drawings, specifications, and contracts to determine BIM scope and level of detail
Support estimating and preconstruction teams with constructability input and model based analysis
Identify prefabrication and modularization opportunities early in the project lifecycle
Develop project specific BIM execution plans aligned with installation strategy and schedules
Modeling and Trade Coordination
Oversee development of detailed electrical models including conduit, cable tray, lighting, power, and equipment
Lead clash detection efforts and coordination with other trades
Attend and represent SCE in coordination meetings with general contractors and design partners
Direct and approve model updates based on RFIs, field input, and approved changes
Field and Prefabrication Support
Provide installation drawings, spool sheets, and layout files aligned with project schedules
Coordinate with Superintendents and field leadership to validate constructability prior to installation
Support prefabrication workflows by ensuring models align with fabrication requirements
Assist with layout and model driven field technologies as applicable
Model Management and Closeout
Maintain accurate and current models throughout the project lifecycle
Ensure models reflect approved construction documents at all times
Support as built modeling and project closeout deliverables
Manage collaboration platforms including Autodesk Construction Cloud and Procore
Team Leadership
Provide technical direction and mentorship to BIM Technicians and Coordinators
Review model quality and enforce adherence to company standards
Lead internal BIM reviews, lessons learned, and continuous improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
Five to eight years of BIM or VDC experience in commercial construction
Minimum three years of electrical trade specific BIM experience
Advanced proficiency in Revit and Navisworks
Demonstrated experience leading BIM coordination meetings
Strong understanding of electrical systems, installation sequencing, and constructability
Ability to communicate effectively with project managers, field leadership, and trade partners
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting electrical prefabrication
Experience with total station or layout driven workflows
Autodesk Construction Cloud administration experience
Service Complete Electric may offer a signing bonus of up to $15,000 for qualified candidates in recognition of the critical nature of these roles. Signing bonuses are not standard compensation and are available only to new external hires with prior written approval. Signing bonuses are not guaranteed, are discretionary, and are subject to change.
Approved signing bonuses are paid in installments over the employee’s first year of continuous employment and require the employee to be actively employed at the time each installment is paid. Final terms, if approved, are governed by the offer letter, which will outline the specific amount, payment schedule, and any repayment obligations if employment ends before one year.
Signing bonuses are processed through payroll and are subject to applicable taxes and withholdings. Subject to executive approval.
