Position Overview:
As a Project Manager at SCE, you are more than a document manager — you are a leader, strategist, and problem-solver. Reporting to the Program Manager, you’ll partner closely with Superintendents and project support staff to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and within scope.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Startup & Planning
- Review plans, specs, and contracts for accuracy and completeness
- Validate estimates and align scope with field execution plans
- Develop project budgets and create effective Schedules of Values (SOVs)
- Establish communication protocols and reporting structures
Procurement & Buyouts
- Lead procurement strategy for major materials and equipment
- Negotiate subcontracts and issue detailed POs, scopes, and BOMs
- Track long-lead items to prevent schedule delays
- Oversee RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and substitutions with PE/PA support
Cost & Financial Management
- Maintain positive cash flow through accurate invoicing and forecasting
- Prepare and update cost load forecasts and billing projections
- Approve vendor invoices and adjust budgets for approved changes
- Ensure forecasting accuracy and financial visibility throughout the project lifecycle
Project Coordination & Field Oversight
- Partner with Superintendents to track installation progress and quality
- Align manpower planning with the Director of Field Operations
- Monitor risks and proactively escalate or resolve issues
- Ensure field teams always have current drawings and documentation
Leadership & Meetings
- Lead weekly internal project meetings with PM, PE, PA, Superintendent, Safety, and BIM
- Facilitate subcontractor and GC meetings to maintain alignment and resolve challenges
- Track action items and ensure accountability across the project team
Client & Stakeholder Communication
- Serve as the primary contact for financial and administrative matters
- Provide consistent updates and ensure strong client satisfaction
- Respond quickly to change events, concerns, and project challenges
Compliance & Quality
- Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and industry regulations
- Support quality control efforts to reduce rework and maintain high inspection success rates
Required Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma required
- 3–5 years as a Project Manager in commercial construction or electrical
- 10 years in the construction or commercial electrical industry
Financial Expertise:
- Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Proven ability to manage SOVs, billing projections, and cost controls
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Accubid Pro and/or Accubid Change Order
- Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Bluebeam, and Excel,
Leadership:
- Strong communicator with the ability to lead meetings, delegate tasks, and drive accountability
- Skilled at coordinating across field teams, vendors, GCs, and internal stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred
- Advanced SOV and budget management experience
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and construction processes
- Advanced financial reporting skills
- Bilingual (Spanish preferred)
- Additional certifications such as PMP, PE, or OSHA 30
Physical Requirements:
- Primarily office-based with occasional job site visits
- Prolonged computer and desk work
- Ability to travel locally to project sites as needed
Signing Bonus Information:
Service Complete Electric may offer a signing bonus of up to $15,000 for qualified candidates in recognition of the critical nature of these roles.
Signing bonuses are not standard compensation and are available only to new external hires with prior written approval. Signing bonuses are not guaranteed, are discretionary, and are subject to change.
Approved signing bonuses are paid in installments over the employee’s first year of continuous employment and require the employee to be actively employed at the time each installment is paid. Final terms, if approved, are governed by the offer letter, which will outline the specific amount, payment schedule, and any repayment obligations if employment ends before one year.
Signing bonuses are processed through payroll and are subject to applicable taxes and withholdings. Subject to executive approval.
