Position Summary

The Electrician Level 3 is a highly skilled professional responsible for executing electrical installations and ensuring compliance with project specifications, construction codes, and safety standards. Reporting to the Field Project Lead, this role requires a deep understanding of electrical systems and proficiency in various tasks, including reading and interpreting plans, conduit installation, power distribution, and lighting installation.

Electricians at this level typically have at least four years of field experience and have completed an accredited apprenticeship program. A Journeyman Electrician License is preferred but not required.



Key Responsibilities

Electrical Installations

  • Perform conduit installation, including EMT, Rigid, PVC, and Flex conduits, both underground and overhead.
  • Install and terminate power distribution systems, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components.
  • Follow shop drawings to execute installations as instructed.
  • Ensure all installations are performed according to project specifications and the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems and components as needed.

Plan Reading and Execution

  • Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, shop drawings, and construction plans.
  • Follow detailed instructions and execute work in alignment with project goals and schedules.
  • Verify accuracy and functionality of electrical systems against project plans.

Code Compliance and Safety

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and apply it to all work performed.
  • Ensure all installations and repairs meet or exceed industry standards and local regulations.
  • Follow all safety protocols and promote a culture of safety on-site.
  • Hold OSHA 10 certification and scissor lift certification.
  • Identify and report potential hazards to the Field Project Lead.

Collaboration and Reporting

  • Report progress, challenges, and resource needs to the Field Project Lead.
  • Work closely with team members to coordinate tasks and maintain project efficiency.
  • Provide input on material requirements and assist in managing tools and equipment.

Quality Control

  • Inspect completed work to ensure quality and adherence to project specifications.
  • Identify and address any deficiencies or rework required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least four years of experience in the electrical field.
  • Completion of an accredited apprenticeship program.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and materials.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, shop drawings, and construction plans.
  • Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Journeyman Electrician License.
  • Experience in commercial electrical projects.

  • Bilingual (Spanish preferred).

Physical Demands

  • Mobility: Frequent movement around construction sites, including climbing ladders and navigating uneven terrain.
  • Standing/Walking: Prolonged periods of standing and walking to complete tasks.
  • Manual Dexterity: Regular use of tools and equipment for installations and repairs.
  • Visual Acuity: Ability to read plans, identify issues, and assess the quality of work.
  • Lifting: Ability to lift and carry materials and tools weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Weather Exposure: Ability to work in various weather conditions typical of construction sites in Florida.
