Position Summary

The Apprentice is an entry-level position responsible for providing general assistance and support on job sites. Apprentices perform a variety of non-electrical tasks to ensure the efficiency and cleanliness of the work environment while supporting electricians and other field personnel. This role is ideal for individuals seeking to develop foundational skills and gain exposure to the construction and electrical industries.

Apprentices report directly to the Field Project Lead, Foreman, or Electrician Level 2 and play a critical role in maintaining organized, safe, and efficient job sites.


Key Responsibilities

General Site Support

  • Clean and organize work areas to ensure a safe and efficient workspace.
  • Handle and distribute materials, ensuring proper delivery and placement.
  • Act as a material runner, delivering tools and supplies to team members as needed.
  • Assist in managing and organizing tools, materials, and equipment.

Basic Support for Electrical Tasks

  • Perform simple tasks under supervision, such as passing tools and holding materials for electricians.
  • Assist with basic installations, such as securing conduits or fixtures as directed.
  • Support electricians during conduit installations, wiring, and other basic operations as required.

Safety and Compliance

  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures on the job site.
  • Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Identify and report potential hazards to supervisors immediately.

Learning and Development

  • Observe and learn from experienced electricians and supervisors to develop basic skills.
  • Participate in training programs as required by the company.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors about task progress.
  • Work collaboratively to maintain an organized and productive work environment.
  • Support team efforts in meeting project deadlines and objectives.

    • Effective communication and teamwork on job sites.


Minimum Qualifications

  • No prior experience required; construction or general labor experience is a plus.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks under supervision.
  • Basic understanding of tools and materials used in construction is preferred.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with safety protocols and basic construction practices.
  • OSHA 10 certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Bilingual (Spanish preferred).


Physical Demands

  • Mobility: Frequent movement around construction sites, including climbing ladders and navigating uneven terrain.
  • Standing/Walking: Prolonged periods of standing and walking to complete tasks.
  • Manual Dexterity: Regular use of hands and arms to handle tools and materials.
  • Lifting: Ability to lift and carry materials and tools weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Weather Exposure: Ability to work in various weather conditions typical of construction sites in Florida.
