About the Role
We're seeking a skilled, safety-focused mechanic to maintain and repair heavy construction equipment — excavators, dozers, skid steers, backhoes, loaders, tractors, forklifts, and dump trucks. This role covers both shop and on-site work and requires solid diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy equipment and company vehicles
- Diagnose and repair engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, transmissions, differentials, and A/C systems
- Conduct preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation
- Use shop diagnostic equipment and computer systems
- Coordinate with service staff and shop management to keep equipment ready for daily operations
- Operate heavy machinery as needed for testing and troubleshooting
Qualifications
- Proven experience in heavy equipment/diesel mechanic work in a construction or industrial setting
- Strong mechanical knowledge of hydraulics, engines, electrical systems, transmissions, and A/C
- Experience with CAT and John Deere equipment preferred
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills; detail-oriented and self-motivated
- Able to lift 50–100 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment
Required for Employment
- Diesel mechanic experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license (CDL preferred; willing to obtain if required)
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening
- 18 and legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
