Position SummaryICR Equipment Rental Sales & Supply is seeking a skilled Diesel Equipment Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of diesel-powered construction, rental, and industrial equipment. The successful candidate will ensure all equipment is safe, reliable, and ready for customer use while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine issues on rental and customer-owned equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance services, including oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and fluid inspections.
- Repair and rebuild diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, brakes, steering components, and electrical systems.
- Inspect equipment for safety, operational readiness, and compliance with company standards.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures using diagnostic tools and service manuals.
- Complete work orders, maintenance records, and inspection reports accurately and timely.
- Prepare rental equipment for delivery and return inspections.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Operate forklifts, service trucks, and other shop equipment as required.
- Assist in loading, unloading, and transporting equipment when needed.
- Communicate repair needs and equipment status with management and customers.
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.

- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Technical training in diesel technology or related field preferred.
- Minimum 2β5 years of experience repairing diesel-powered construction or heavy equipment.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and preventive maintenance procedures.
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic reports.
- Experience using computerized diagnostic equipment.
- Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in various weather conditions.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Hydraulic and electrical diagnostics
- Welding and fabrication experience (preferred)
- Time management and organizational skills

- Frequently stand, bend, kneel, crawl, and climb.
- Lift and carry heavy parts and tools.
